Dr. Jens Brinkmann BDA


Jens Brinkmann has spent over fifteen years making architecture that deals with the fundamentals of people’s quality of life. His body of work spans a broad range of executed and proposed projects of different scales and typologies, from private houses, institutional commissions, start-up and co-working offices, art installations, private, office and library furniture, a lakeside swimming pool and a pop-up restaurant on a frozen river.

Dr. phil. Dipl.- Ing. MArch. Jens Brinkmann graduated from the Technische Universität Braunschweig (TUBS), as Graduate-Engineer-Architect in 2001 and from the Georgia Institute of Technology (GaTech) in Atlanta/USA, as Master of Architecture in 1998. In 1997, he studied in the class for performance, film and painting at the Hochschule für Bildende Künste Braunschweig. Brinkmann has lectured as a guest at the Georgia Institute of Technology, the Universidade de São Paulo, the ENS d’Architecture de Paris La Villette and ESAP in Porto. From 2004 to 2012 he was an assistant professor at the Brandenburgische Technische Universität (BTU).

Brinkmann is a board member of the Association of German Architects in Berlin (BDA Berlin). Since 2019 he holds a doctorade degree in Cultural Studies from Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin (HU).
