A Phase 1 competition entry for a new Civil Engineering and Architecture Faculty for the University of Applied Sciences in Kiel, Germany. The intention was to design a building as an extension to existing campus that provided necessary areas and rooms for a modern, future orientated study course. The new building should enable both the Architecture and Engineering Faculties to have shared work spaces where new synergies and relationships can take place.
Our design is derived from a complex study of the existing urban fabric of the University campus. Entrances, building heights, views and shared spaces strongly relate to the buildings unique position within the campus.
